COUPLE'S SONGS REFLECT MALE, FEMALE VIEWPOINTS
by Barbara Fredricksen,

Lee Paulet and Betsy Paulet perform compositions that they call "Florida Songstory."   Her poetry and his poetic songs tell the tales of their native state, stories of lonely lighthouse keepers, long forgotten battles, recent events and Florida wildlife and critters. . . two, four and six legged

Yes, I sincerely do enjoy your poetry!  I've been trying to figure out how I could get to your event on November 6, but the day is just too full.  I am really sorry because I would love to go.  Since I got back my calendar has been filling fast.  So much for having more time to write!  My third book is about half done and I'm anxious to get back to it.  I love your style, and the content is so different from anything in my experience, I'm fascinated by it!  Thanks for sharing it with me!
Your friend,  Evelyn

I don't know what I paid for it, but that 10 or 15 dollars I spent on your CD was the best
money I've spent in a long time. THOROUGHLY enjoying it.  And it's clear, crisp, clean
production and interesting arrangements  (banjo on the Cat/Parrot fight).  Also, I've played Mike's cd over and over. I like his songs alot. Each play, I'm learning something new from the song.

Dear Lee & Betsy,
I was searching the web and found your site. I said, "I KNOW THEM!" I use to read poems at Borders at your events...remember? I still write poems and short stories and send them to to editors constantly...but I still haven't hit it big?!?  I still haven't forgotten sleeping in your tent an the WMcL festival or the butterfly that landed on Betsy's arm.
Take care - Royce Koon

from an EMAIL received 4/2/05 -

Hey! I heard you two several years ago at the Homeland Heritage Festival. Unfortunately, circustances have kept me from doing many things I enjoy - doing what has to be done instead. You sang the FLORIDA WALTZ that day and I never forgot it! I often looked for your CD in music stores , knowing the chances of finding it were slim. I have been in love with and finally "at home" in Florida since coming here 21 years ago. I've even developed a phobia about leaving the state, for fear I'll never return to the place I love so much.

It breaks my heart to see all the development and the once beautiful land paved over or an ugly lifeless sea of rooftops. I once drove from Frostproof to Clermont several times a week and enjoyed the wonder view. A recent trip to Ocala shocked me to the point I had to pull over and cry.  I thought the once beautiful hills of Clermont had been the victim of a massive fire, leaving them desolate and scarred. As i drove closer I realized I was seeing thousands of cold grey rooftops. My heart hurt so bad I did not enjoy the rest of my trip. I love the nature of Florida, I have never been to Disney World or the other attractions, there is so much to see in Florida's wilds. Nothing pleases me more than a day spent fishing or drifting down a seclude stretch of river and watching a gator check out our boat and fish lines. My idea of a wonderful day is to be on the east coast at sunrise and the Gulf at sunset. It's what I ask my husband to give me at least twice a year as a gift. Fishing is more than landing the fish,it is the wonderufl experience of FLorida.

I love your music and am so glad I thot of you today. I can't wait to find out where you'll be singing next, because I WILL be there..as long as it's in Florida! Ha!Ha!
I emailed your Freedom words to my son and his wife, and my daughter. My son-in-law just ended his military career in the Airforce and moved home to Lake Wales. My son, Tommy, is  leaving tomorrow for his 4th trip to Afghanistan since 9-11-2001. He has also served in Iraq and South Korea.

Thank you again for your wonderful music. Looking forward to seeing and hearing you soon. I'll be sending a n order for your CDs shortly.
